While this rayed diamond pattern of the Q'ero represents Inti, the sun, another inti motif divided vertically. or half inti, is sometimes referred to as inti chusa, for its resemblance to the sun as it goes behind a mountain. An inti motif so divided evokes sun and shadow. The Q'ero rising sun is always woven with light colors, and the setting sun with dark colors.
