Our sacred ceremonial rattle is hand-crafted in the Peruvian Amazon from chonta wood and gourds. This rattle features an etched animal design on the front and the reverse sides of the bowl. Finely finished with plant fiber tufted tops. Each rattle is a unique work of art and has its own sound—your choice of animal style and size.

Length is measured excluding the tufted tops and runs 10 to 12 inches.

Small bowl has about a 5-6 inch diameter.

Medium bowl has about an 8-10 inch diameter.

Large bowl has about a 12-14 inch diameter.

Your rattle may vary slightly from the photo. Some have colorful strings while others are without. Measurements are approximate due to the natural materials. Lovingly handmade in Peru.

Our fair trade, hand-carved gourd maraca rattles are made in Central Peru. The gourds grow in the warm central valleys of the Andes, the coastal oasis, and the jungles. After harvesting, they are dried, skinned, and sanded smooth. Artisans carve freehand on the surface, creating intricate designs. Hand-painted featuring a variety of different scenes, including birds, flowers, llamas, and other indigenous designs.
