Of Interest: Silver fir was the first species used for the Christmas tree, but has since been replaced by Douglas and Noble firs.
Benefits: Its overall action is considered stimulating, and can be used to bring alertness to the mind, or diluted and applied topically to the adrenal areas or the body in general it may help general fatigue. Fir needle has mainly been used for respiratory complaints such as coughs and bronchitis, and as a disinfectant. It can be used to support arthritis, asthma, bronchitis, burns, colds, cough, cuts, flu, hemorrhoids, muscle aches and pains, rheumatism, sinusitis, sore throat, wounds. Fir needle can be added to a massage oil or cream for sore muscles.
