IMPORTANT NOTE ON TUNING: The conventional tuning standard adopted across most music is A440 Hz, indicating that middle A is tuned to 440 Hz and all other notes are adjusted accordingly, with C at approximately 262 Hz. An alternative tuning standard gaining popularity is known as A432 Hz, where middle A is tuned to 432 Hz instead of 440 Hz, and all other notes follow suit in alignment with the 432 Hz standard.
When middle C is tuned to 256 Hz, the A above middle C will register at 432 Hz. Hence, C256 serves as an alternative notation for A432 tuning, sometimes referred to as Scientific Pitch or Verdi Tuning. We use the terms C256 and A432 interchangeably. Therefore, if you notice a tag on your A432 Chimes indicating 256 Hz, rest assured you have the correct chimes. C256 denotes A432 tuning.
